Clipped Screening Premiere

An immersive premiere event surrounding the release of the iconic LA story.

The Issue

FX and Hulu needed to create an impactful and immersive premiere event for their new show “Clipped,” which delves into the story of a notorious NBA owner’s racist remarks. The challenge was to design an event that would attract celebrities, generate media buzz, and leave a lasting impression on attendees while effectively incorporating elements that reflect the basketball-centric theme of the show.

The Design Solution

To address this challenge, FX and Hulu partnered with Rock Plus Paper to create an immersive Hollywood show premiere experience. The event featured two red carpet areas to maximize photo opportunities and media coverage, giving celebrities and VIP guests ample press interactions. Exclusive screening tickets were designed to build anticipation, and interactive elements such as basketball hoops and branded merchandise tied into the NBA theme of the show. A dedicated photoshoot area with branded backdrops allowed guests to capture and share their experiences on social media. Additionally, an exclusive after-party provided networking opportunities and further engagement with the show’s theme.

The Red Courtside Carpet

The red carpet backdrop was designed by blending scandalous headlines from the news with the gritty texture of Los Angeles. The carpet itself was styled to resemble a basketball court, creating a stage for celebrities to take the spotlight. The dual red carpet moments garnered extensive press coverage, with numerous articles and photo spreads in entertainment media.

The Branded Elements

Exclusive screening tickets were designed to build anticipation, and interactive elements such as basketball hoops and branded merchandise tied into the NBA theme of the show. Distributed to over 500 attendees, creating a sense of exclusivity and anticipation while enhancing the overall guest experience with clear navigation and seamless event flow.

The Exclusive After Party

Creating an exclusive environment, the after party helped guests immerse themselves in the world of the NBA Clippers scene. Branded elements, including a bar, DJ, and pop-up basketball game, contributed to the thematic atmosphere. The interactive and branded experiences facilitated a deeper engagement with the show’s theme for guests.

The Press Photobooth

The Photo Booth helped immerse guests inside the Clippers scandal while providing them content to share on social media. This led to a significant increase in social media activity with over 500 posts tagged with the event’s hashtag.

The premiere event successfully highlighted FX’s new show, engaged attendees in a memorable way, and generated significant media coverage and social media buzz, leading to increased viewer interest and anticipation for “Clipped.”
